In the world of immortalizing cherished moments, wedding videography stands apart as a distinct and invaluable art form, offering a narrative that transcends the limitations of traditional wedding photography. While both mediums are essential, they each bring unique attributes to the table, making them a dynamic duo in preserving the magic of your special day.

1. Dynamic Storytelling: Wedding videography has the unparalleled ability to weave a dynamic narrative, capturing the ebb and flow of emotions throughout the day. Unlike static images, videos can convey subtle glances, tender whispers, and joyous laughter, providing a more immersive and emotional experience.

2. Live Moments and Audio Symphony: Imagine reliving the heartfelt vows, the crackling laughter, and the gentle rustle of the wind as you walk down the aisle. Wedding videography not only encapsulates the visual spectacle but also preserves the audio symphony that accompanies these moments, adding a layer of depth and authenticity that photography alone cannot achieve.

3. Movement and Dance: From the first dance to the spontaneous moments of joy on the dance floor, videography beautifully captures the essence of movement. The twirl of a dress, the sway of bodies in rhythm – these are elements that photography might freeze but cannot fully convey in their static frames.

4. Timeless Cinematic Quality: Wedding videography elevates your memories to a cinematic level, providing a timeless quality that allows you to revisit your special day as if watching a beautifully crafted film. The use of music, skilled editing, and cinematic techniques can transform your wedding into a work of art, enhancing the emotional impact of the captured moments.

5. Personalized Reflection: Each wedding is unique, and videography allows for a more personalized reflection of your story. The carefully curated sequence of moments, coupled with the ability to incorporate personal messages or interviews, creates a personalized and intimate portrayal of your love story.

The choice between wedding videography and photography shouldn't be an either/or dilemma; it's a harmonious collaboration that ensures every nuance of your wedding day is immortalized. Embrace the magic of both mediums, allowing them to complement each other and provide a comprehensive and enchanting account of the most significant day of your life. Your wedding deserves to be a symphony of sights and sounds, an everlasting tapestry of emotions, and that's precisely what wedding videography brings to the forefront.

Planning a wedding is an exciting journey that marks the beginning of a lifelong adventure with your partner. However, amidst the romance and anticipation, the sheer complexity of orchestrating this momentous event can quickly become overwhelming. This is where the unsung hero of wedding planning steps in – the wedding coordinator. In this blog, we'll explore why engaged couples should seriously consider enlisting the expertise of a wedding coordinator instead of taking on the daunting task of organizing everything themselves. From stress reduction to expert guidance, a wedding coordinator can be the key to turning your dream wedding into a reality, all while allowing you to cherish the precious moments leading up to and on your special day.

Here are a few reasons why hiring a wedding coordinator can be a wise choice for couples getting married:

  1. Stress Reduction: Planning a wedding can be incredibly stressful. A wedding coordinator can handle the logistics, leaving the couple to enjoy their special day.

  2. Expertise: Wedding coordinators are experienced in the industry and have a network of vendors. They can help couples find the best deals and execute their vision effectively.

  3. Time Management: Planning a wedding can be time-consuming. A coordinator can save couples countless hours by managing the details and appointments.

  4. Budget Management: A wedding coordinator can help couples stick to their budget by providing cost-effective solutions and negotiating with vendors.

  5. Creative Input: Coordinators can offer creative ideas and help couples personalize their wedding, making it truly unique.

  6. Vendor Coordination: They can liaise with all the vendors to ensure everyone is on the same page, reducing the chances of last-minute hiccups.

  7. Emergency Problem Solving: Wedding coordinators are adept at handling unexpected issues that may arise on the wedding day, allowing the couple to focus on the celebration.

  8. Guest Experience: Coordinators can ensure that guests have a smooth and enjoyable experience, from parking to seating arrangements and more.

  9. Enjoy the Moment: Hiring a coordinator allows couples to be present in the moment and truly enjoy their special day without worrying about the logistics.

  10. Peace of Mind: Knowing that a professional is overseeing the wedding can give couples peace of mind, ensuring that everything runs smoothly.

Types of Wedding Coordinators:

  • Full-Service Wedding Coordinators: They handle every aspect of wedding planning, from start to finish. Couples can rely on them for comprehensive assistance.
  • Partial Wedding Coordinators: These coordinators step in during specific stages of planning or focus on certain aspects, as requested by the couple. For example, they might assist with vendor selection or on-the-day coordination.
  • Day-of Coordinators: These professionals primarily take charge on the wedding day itself. They ensure everything runs smoothly, oversee logistics, and address any last-minute issues, allowing the couple to enjoy their day.

Whether you're seeking a guiding hand throughout the entire wedding planning process or someone to manage the final details on the big day, a wedding coordinator can be tailored to your specific needs, making the journey to 'I do' far less stressful and more enjoyable.

Your wedding day is a momentous occasion, filled with love, joy, and cherished memories. While photographs capture the essence of the day, there's something magical about reliving the event through video. In this blog post, we will explore the compelling reasons why having your wedding filmed is a decision you won't regret.

1. Capturing Unforgettable Moments:

Weddings are brimming with heartfelt moments - the exchange of vows, the first kiss, the emotional speeches, and the joyous dances. These fleeting instances are captured more vividly in video than in photographs, allowing you to revisit them with all the emotions intact.

2. Sharing with Loved Ones:

Not all your loved ones can attend your wedding in person, especially if it's a destination wedding or if family members are scattered across the globe. A wedding video provides a way to share your special day with those who couldn't be there in person, making them feel included in your celebration.

3. Reliving the Emotions:

Photographs freeze moments in time, but videos capture the movement, voices, and the atmosphere of the day. Hearing your partner's voice crack during their vows or seeing the tearful eyes of your parents can transport you back to the emotional depth of your wedding day.

4. Seeing What You Missed:

Your wedding day can be a whirlwind, with so much happening at once. Having a professionally filmed wedding allows you to see and appreciate all the details and moments you might have missed amidst the excitement.

5. Creating a Family Heirloom:

A wedding video is not just for you; it's a cherished family heirloom that can be passed down through generations. Your children, grandchildren, and beyond can witness the love story that began on your wedding day.

6. Professional Quality:

While smartphone videos have their place, professional videographers have the skills and equipment to create a cinematic masterpiece. They know how to capture the best angles, use high-quality audio, and edit the footage to tell your unique story.

7. Guest Interviews and Messages:

Wedding videographers often include guest interviews and messages in their work. These heartfelt words from your friends and family can add an extra layer of emotion and sentimentality to your wedding video.

8. Entertainment Value:

A well-edited wedding video is not just a keepsake; it's also entertaining. It can be enjoyable to sit down with your spouse and relive the day together or host a viewing party with friends and family.

In a world where memories can fade, having your wedding filmed is like preserving a time capsule of love. It's a decision that enriches your wedding experience and allows you to relive the magic whenever you desire. So, when you're planning your wedding, don't underestimate the significance of hiring a professional videographer - it's an investment in memories that will last a lifetime.

Everyone wants a great deal on something we buy, but sometimes a great value is better. Why? Because a great value implies that the quality is there and the price is  appropriate for what you are getting. Anyone who has hired a contractor and went with the lowest price knows this to be true - there are compromises we make in quality when we go with the lowest-priced service or good. Live long enough and it's undeniable.

So, it's time to shop for wedding videography. You can't believe how expensive it is. Certainly the videographer's advertised prices are just a starting point. You'll be able to negotiate down the price.

But consider this: Let's say at your job you make $30/hour. One day you go in to work and your boss tells you that today, he's only going to pay you $28/hour. It's only $2/hour less so no big deal right. WRONG! You're furious that he has devalued the hard work you put into your job. Long story, short - that night you are searching the want ads. Well, it's sort of that way for wedding vendors. Not quite the same you say - they own their own business - they make the decisions - so they have more leeway. In fact, it's the opposite, the wedding videographer has priced their service based on the amount of work they know they are going to put into it. So, don't be surprised if they're not as willing to compromise on price.

But you really want to hire them and they won't lower their prices, what's a value-conscious consumer to do? Here's my advice. Ask for value-adds. Ask for a free hour of coverage. Ask for an additional DVD. Ask for some add-on that they offer at no additional cost if you're willing to pay the advertised price for their main services. I guarantee you it works 99% of the time. Hear me out - it's a win-win. The videographer feels that you value their services and work and you get a great value with a free add-on that you would not have otherwise received.

So, sure, you can get a college student or hobbyist to film your wedding, but instead consider a video professional who is willing to earn your business with a quality value-add.

Five Things to Try When Dealing with Pre-Wedding Sleeplessness
By Gene DiPaula 01 Feb, 2019
We get asked all of the time, "Why shouldn't I just have the photography company that I've hired do my wedding videography also?".

This is a loaded question because actually there are so many reasons. I'll go into a few here:

  1. Specialization. You want a company that specializes in just videography . You're not having your DJ bake your wedding cake. Or your caterer do your flowers. Couples think that if a company is a good photographer they MUST be a good videographer. Nothing could be further from the truth. Understanding how to capture motion on film is not the same as having your subject stand still while you set the lighting, adjust your flash, pose everyone and countdown from 3. In fact, photography and videography skills are completely different undertakings, which leads me to point #2.
    • In Motion Video just does wedding videos. We've been doing it for over 15 years so we're pretty good at it. We understand the fine details of motion pictures to make your wedding video a monument to the amazing day your wedding was.
  2. Audio.  This is by far the hardest aspect for photographers to get right. You need to understand how audio works, which types of microphones work best in which situations, placement of the microphone, getting proper levels and more. Photographers aren't use to worrying about audio so they don't pay it the proper attention. What good is great video if the sound quality is lacking? After all, you can't hear your vows, the minister, the toasts, the laughter and the tears in a photograph.
    • We pay special attention to audio each step of the way. From capturing ambient audio with the right, high quality microphones, to lapel microphones to capture the vows and ring exchange, to tapping into the house audio to get the toasts. You'll have crystal clear audio, which really makes your wedding video immaculate.
  3. Working together. Most likely the videographer is a contractor. Couples will often say it's important because the photographer and videographer know each other and have worked with each other before. Actually, this may be less likely. The majority of photography companies that offer video services contract out the video services because they do not have the expertise. This means not only will the photographer not have met the videographer before, but neither has the photography company met him or her. They've contacted this person AFTER you've booked them so they don't even know who's showing up at your wedding when you sign the contract.
    • You'll work with our small team and speak directly with us. We've likely worked with your photographer before. If not, we contact them before the wedding to introduce ourselves and discuss a plan to capture your wedding day so that you get the best photos AND video. We've been working besides photographers for over 15 years, so we know exactly the best way to work together.
  4. Editing. Most likely the photography company will outsource the editing of your wedding video so they will not have the care for your wedding video that a videography company does. In fact (and you didn't hear this from us), you'll be lucky if your video is edited in the United States because most of the time photography companies ship your videos to India for editing at a much cheaper price. That's where any savings are coming in.
    • We take pride in each video and approach it like hand craftsmanship. Your wedding video will be edited by our Creative Director. You'll see a copy for approval before your final wedding video is approved. Your video isn't done until you're happy with it, which will likely be right away:)
  5. Caring.  The first priority of a photography company that tacks on video as an afterthought, or to make a little more money, is photography. So for that company, video takes the backseat.
    • While the photographer is focused on the photos, we're focused on the video so that it gets its just due.
So, when it comes down to it, both photography and videography are an investment in your wedding day. You shouldn't have to cheapen one to get quality from the other. Choose companies that specialize in their craft - a photography company for photos, and a videography company for videos. It's the right and smart way to capture your perfect wedding day.

I'm really excited about this new wedding video blog series that I've been working on... How to save money on wedding videography. I'll be releasing ideas and tips over the next weeks and months.

The idea was inspired by a conversation I recently had with a bride and groom about a contract I had sent over. The couple expressed that they REALLY wanted to use us for their wedding video service s, but they weren't sure they could afford us.

So I looked over their contract with them and one of the first things I noticed is that they had booked two videographers for the day. We almost always tell people that one videographer is more than enough to capture everything they'll need on their wedding day (and to create a mind-blowing wedding highlights video. ) Plus, most people have two photographers so also having two videographers can be too many people shooting at one time, especially on the dance floor.

There are exceptions where having two videographers is ideal, and I'll share those scenarios in an upcoming blog, but I'll say that one scenario is when the bride and groom want to capture both of them getting ready, but they are both getting ready in distant locations. In this case, two videographers would be necessary.

But as I talked to the couple I found out that they were both getting ready in hotels very close to each other. Why not get ready at the same same hotel I asked? This will allow the one videographer to easily go back and forth from one room to the other and capture both the bride and groom getting ready. The bride expressed that this was a great idea and that no one had suggested this yet. (This is where our 15 years of experience comes in handy).

The bride told me that the reason they were getting ready in different hotels is that they were worried about seeing each other beforehand. I told her this is easily remedied through some proper planning between the couple ahead of time with regards to arrival times to the hotel and departure times to the ceremony. On the day of the wedding, this coordination can be assured by the best man and maid/matron of honor communicating with each other throughout the preparation process.

Looking at the rest of their wedding day plans, there was no other reason they needed a second videographer. This can easily save a couple anywhere from $500-$1500 or more.

She agreed and the couple decided to get ready at the same hotel. This reduced the price of the contract significantly and they were very grateful.

I consider wedding videography to be a luxury item. It's usually one of the last things couple book because they want to be sure they can fit it in to their budget. (Truth be told, it should be at the top of the list because how will you REMEMBER your day when it's all over, but we understand you have to have a location, feed your guests, etc... - haha). But wedding videography can also be about the value it brings. And speaking with the right and experienced wedding videography company can save you a lot of money.

Look for more upcoming tips on way to save money on wedding videography and your wedding in general.
